Welcome to the Party Political Puffin blog

Party Political Puffin is primarily a YouTube channel.

The channel started as a response to the political climate that arose from the 2016, US general election.

The race was between Hillary Rodham Clinton and, remarkably, Donald John Trump.

The source of amusement and amazement wasn't so much, if at all, to do with the policies that were being asserted as the candidates positions but very much to do with what started as 'simple' 'falsehoods' being offered by Trump. Mendacity is a trait synonymous with politics. However, this was a level and shear volume that this author had never experienced before. At first, it was amusing listening to and watching ,Trump. Some of it was simply cringe inducing. It was almost like driving past a bad traffic accident on the other side of the road, impossible to take your eyes off.

Trump had been in office 24 hours when he sent Sean Spicer, the 28th, White House Press Secretary, out to tell the world a demonstrably false statement, that we had just seen the largest crowd for an inaugural ceremony.

The lies have only increased dramatically and the cartoonish behaviour of Trump has developed to the point that the US and the world have endured not only the investigation in to Russian 'meddling', during the election or 'declaration of war' as I think of it, but most recently his impeachment for extorting the President of the Ukraine to attempt to get opposition research on Joe Biden, his, at the time, according to the polling data, most dangerous opponent for reelection.

As of 20th January, 2020, Trump has made 16,241 false or misleading claims

Daniel Dale, the erstwhile Toronto Star Washington DC bureau chief, now CNN reporter was the first to track the lies Trump was telling. He had no idea he would still be dong this over three years after he started. As the general election looms, he may well find himself with another four years of this to look forward to.

Thank you for reading, well, at all! Unfortunately for the internet and the wider world there is more of my poorly constructed, language strangling to come.

However, if you want to have a real laugh and can't wait until the next thrilling instalment of this tome then please head on over to the YouTube channel (http://bit.ly/32xuWxv). It would be great to see you there.

This blog is not just to direct you to the YouTube channel, although to be perfectly honest, that is the primary function. It is to give the channel a way to comment on stories that it is not possible, due to the pace of news cycles, that really shouldn't pass without comment.

So, to that end, I hope you will find value in the blog posts but in a different way from the videos.

Thanks.

UK Government Cowardly Representative says "people are 'addicted' to the furlough scheme"

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/07/we-need-to-build-on-the-furlough-scheme-not-cut-it-to-avoid-mass-unemployment A Return to the 80's for the UK? This article, rightly, makes the point that forcing people back to work during a pandemic when the status of who's been infected, who hasn't and if there is anyone resistant to Covid-19 is unknown. That's before we understand exactly what a second and third wave of this will be like and do to the wider community. However, the line that really chimed with me was the opening one: "A senior government source warned yesterday that people are “addicted” to the furlough scheme. “We have to get people back to work,” he said. If you are outside the UK and younger than I, to be honest, that's probably 90% of those reading this, you may not be familiar with the modern industrial history and why a stupid, crass and clearly ignorant comment like that from the ruling class would "chime

What does a community do when it can no longer bear to see its members "legally" murdered?

We all have our problems in life, right? When you have an issue in your life, and we all have them from time to time, at the very least, that’s just life, right? An example of what I’m talking about might be, let’s say, your neighbour upstairs plays loud music all hours of the day or night when they’re off work. You’ve been and spoken with them and they just laughed at you each time. What do you do? You take it up with your landlord, the building supervisor or maybe if it has gotten to an extreme point, the police. At least you’ve got some options, right? Another example perhaps could be, you are being harassed by a guy, shouting names at you, embarrassing you as you go to work, come home from work, take your children to school or the park. Perhaps this time you don’t confront them for a lot of “common sense” reasons. So, perhaps this time you go to take advice from a lawyer or maybe go to the police. Well, at least there’s a choice of who to turn to. What about if every time you go ou
