What does a community do when it can no longer bear to see its members "legally" murdered?

We all have our problems in life, right? When you have an issue in your life, and we all have them from time to time, at the very least, that’s just life, right? An example of what I’m talking about might be, let’s say, your neighbour upstairs plays loud music all hours of the day or night when they’re off work. You’ve been and spoken with them and they just laughed at you each time. What do you do? You take it up with your landlord, the building supervisor or maybe if it has gotten to an extreme point, the police. At least you’ve got some options, right? Another example perhaps could be, you are being harassed by a guy, shouting names at you, embarrassing you as you go to work, come home from work, take your children to school or the park. Perhaps this time you don’t confront them for a lot of “common sense” reasons. So, perhaps this time you go to take advice from a lawyer or maybe go to the police. Well, at least there’s a choice of who to turn to. What about if every time you go ou...

UK Government Cowardly Representative says "people are 'addicted' to the furlough scheme"

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/07/we-need-to-build-on-the-furlough-scheme-not-cut-it-to-avoid-mass-unemployment A Return to the 80's for the UK? This article, rightly, makes the point that forcing people back to work during a pandemic when the status of who's been infected, who hasn't and if there is anyone resistant to Covid-19 is unknown. That's before we understand exactly what a second and third wave of this will be like and do to the wider community. However, the line that really chimed with me was the opening one: "A senior government source warned yesterday that people are “addicted” to the furlough scheme. “We have to get people back to work,” he said. If you are outside the UK and younger than I, to be honest, that's probably 90% of those reading this, you may not be familiar with the modern industrial history and why a stupid, crass and clearly ignorant comment like that from the ruling class would "chime...

Grant Shapps Tells Public It Will All Go Back To Normal

Grant Shapps Tells Public It Will All Go Back To Normal This is an interview g iven by Grant Shapps , transport secretary during which he muses on the notion of sending kids back to school in June. Your government is putting money and power ahead of lives. The soft soaping of the questions doesn't help to get to the truth of the matter. There is one reason they want to get children back to school and it has nothing to do with educating our children. They need them to go back to school to free up Mum and Dad to go back to work but more than that when your kids are going to school and there is a routine everything APPEARS to be 'normal'. If it appears normal people will start to believe it is and return to what they have known their entire lives, work. At no point when this ghoul is talking about kids going back to school does he acknowledge or warn of the real issue. He couches what he says in terms of children being safe from Covid-19. Whilst as a parent my...

The Left Wing Information Project is Open for Business

Hi there, Have you ever been trying to find some information about Left Wing politics that you just couldn't find? Found yourself with a ton of disparate links that have bits and pieces of what you want but not quite what you need? Been trying to get a picture of what group is what school or discipline of left-wing politics but not able to piece it together? Yeah? Me too! This project is an attempt to provide a central repository for the left online no matter the 'school' or 'discipline'. This subreddit is not the actual repository but a way to build a team that can work together to ultimately design, develop, deliver and maintain the 'library' itself. I appreciate that this is a big undertaking. So, it is not something that I could do alone, nor would I want to. Any good central source of information usually comes from a dedicated team that all have something unique to offer whilst working towards a common goal but over quite a period ...

Being stopped from calling for greater unity and education outside of 'leftist' forums by?....

Being stopped from calling for greater unity and education outside of 'leftist' forums by?.... You may have seen that I have included below a Reddit post that I wrote. If you read the piece you would see that I was essentially making three important points. That people that are not politics nerds or junkies may not believe or understand that there could be an alternative system to that of capitalism That we on the left, that is the whole of the left, from Social Democrats on the right of the left, through Socialists and Communist and all the way to Anarchists on the left of the left*, can make it difficult, inaccessible, esoteric even for those on the outside of politics, and within for that matter, to understand why capitalism is not a divinely bestowed system to live by. That we on the left intersect on fundamental points and issues and need to make our positions ACROSS THE ENTIRE SPECTRUM of the left accessible. *The spectrum shown here is very truncated and a...

Fear, Terror, Horror: Current Reality for an NHS Family - Let's NOT go back to 'normal'

Fear, terror and horror seem to be the norm. At least if you are an NHS family.  Fear at what could happen to your loved one, the terror as these thoughts creep up on you. The horror of what awful outcome could await. Any family member of someone working for the NHS will happily tell you how proud they are of them. They are smart, strong, confident, diligent and of course, caring. These all go to make up the person that you love, that you admire that you are so, so very proud of. Is that what makes us the most proud? Well, it would be a lie to say it didn't go a long way but these wonderful people do a demanding job, over long hours, in not great conditions for money that they could earn in other, less demanding roles. Above those remarkable qualities there are other things that make them stand out, that make us so proud of them. Selflessness, bravery and the fact that their vocation is given to anyone that needs it and it is given freely to their community. Our children have the m...

Party Political Puffin's Podcast is up an running!

It has been difficult to realise the original vision of what the channel would look like. Originally, the thought was that a 'Daily News' article would go up on YouTube every day, giving an overview of the days news. The channel would also provide a weekly 'Opinion' piece at the weekend. The 'enthusiastic' view of being able to get this done was just that, enthusiastic, but it wasn't realistic. With the channel just starting and having to be organised, the fact that I am just one person, for the moment and all the technicalities of getting pieces up, there just wasn't the time to do all of this. As those of you that have see the YouTube videos will be aware, they go quite in depth in an attempt to cater for those of us that do not spend every waking minute reading, listening to or watching some sort of news content. I wanted to make sure that if people didn't quite get some of the nuance or terminology or background to a piece then they woul...

Healthcare and Coronavirus Series Promo

The Coronavirus, COVID-19, has swept across the planet in a matter of weeks. As it is a novel version, no one has immunity to it and there are currently no vaccines. A robust and urgent response is and was required to this. A 'Universal' healthcare response to it, if you will. However, there are countries that have no form of 'nationalised' healthcare system and require their citizens to essentially fend for themselves. Of course, this means there is no joined up, national system to coordinate not just the medical aspect of fighting this virus but also the logist aspect of it. I'm not talking about some small, basically unknown 'tribe' or clan off the top of Scotland here. No, I'm talking about the richest country on the planet, the USA. I've filmed a four part series looking at the relationship between coronavirus and healthcare and the systems that will be employed. Please join me to look at what this could mean for the countries invol...

Universal Health Care: Why is this even a question in the 21st century?

Coronavirus is creating a lot of data. Could this help to establish healthcare as a human right? I appreciate that not everyone is a 'big nerd'. Nor is the planet occupied by 'number junkies'. The World Health Organisation seems to have realised this, and thankfully so. The WHO are doing a good job at getting information and data out to not just the media, but also the public and in simple, straightforward ways. One way they communicate how the world is fairing during this pandemic is through their situation dashboard ( WHO Covid-19 Dashboard ). For anyone looking at the data plots of coronavirus for each country, you can see a general theme. Over the first 4 to 6 weeks, the number of cases are relatively low. Then buckle up as the next 4 to 6 weeks will be like a rocket launch. Those numbers of increase in confirmed cases just take off. Watching TV can be scary. There's wall to wall coverage on a 24/7 basis of something that is very serious and new t...

Lockerbie bomber conviction 'may have been miscarriage of justice' - This is not new news!

On 21 December 1998, Pan Am flight 103 was on its way from London to New York when it exploded over Lockerbie , Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. This killed 243 passengers and 16 crew and also led to the deaths of a further 1 1 people from the town of Lockerbie as the falling debris rained down. The total number of those killed in one of the UK's worst terrorist attack came to 270 . The wreckage of Pan Am 103 on a field in Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988. Photograph: AP The subsequent investigation led to the   Lamin Khalifah Fhimah  and  Abdelbaset al-Megrahi  being indicted by  US Attorney General and the Scottish Lord Advocate. The question is, did these two men commit this horrendous crime?

This is too serious to not comment on further - Coronavirus

Coronavirus is serious. Seems some need to be made aware of this. The world is being 'represented' by a buffoon, a man-child, someone that cares not a jot for anyone that isn't him or his family. He shouldn't be the story of a pandemic that as of just a week ago has taken the lives of over 3,000 people. BBC News Website - Coronavirus: World in 'uncharted territory' He shouldn't be so I'm not going to make him the story, for once! However, I will just say that it is more than 'sad' that I went to a news organisation for an accurate take on the number of deaths rather than go to the US government's website. Why? I simply don't trust anything from Trump's administration and with good reason(s) (many, many of them!). Firstly, I implore anyone that is unsure of what Coronavirus is, to go and check out the W.H.O.'s website  (shown below) as it gives a good, no nonsense summary of what it is. I understand people c...
