The Left Wing Information Project is Open for Business

Hi there,

Have you ever been trying to find some information about Left Wing politics that you just couldn't find?

Found yourself with a ton of disparate links that have bits and pieces of what you want but not quite what you need?

Been trying to get a picture of what group is what school or discipline of left-wing politics but not able to piece it together?

Yeah? Me too!

This project is an attempt to provide a central repository for the left online no matter the 'school' or 'discipline'. This subreddit is not the actual repository but a way to build a team that can work together to ultimately design, develop, deliver and maintain the 'library' itself.

I appreciate that this is a big undertaking. So, it is not something that I could do alone, nor would I want to. Any good central source of information usually comes from a dedicated team that all have something unique to offer whilst working towards a common goal but over quite a period of time.

This subreddit will be a way for the team to communicate with each other but also with those that are interested in seeing this project develop and succeed during the stages of development.

It will also provide a way for anyone that has resources they want to see included or point the team at areas that have been missed or overlooked a way to contribute.

I am looking forward to working on this project and hopefully delivering something that is useful to our community on the left and the future enquiring minds that are dipping a toe in the beautiful waters of community.

This article, rightly, makes the point that forcing people back to work during a pandemic when the status of who's been infected, who hasn't and if there is anyone resistant to Covid-19 is unknown. That's before we understand exactly what a second and third wave of this will be like and do to the wider community. However, the line that really chimed with me was the opening one: "A senior government source warned yesterday that people are “addicted” to the furlough scheme. “We have to get people back to work,” he said. Lockerbie bomber conviction 'may have been miscarriage of justice' - This is not new news!

On 21 December 1998, Pan Am flight 103 was on its way from London to New York when it exploded over Lockerbie , Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. This killed 243 passengers and 16 crew and also led to the deaths of a further 1 1 people from the town of Lockerbie as the falling debris rained down.
